gingham and pom-poms

Ahhhh...what a productive day. I had the pleasure of cleaning my vehicle out in 35 degree weather! The skies were clear and sunny. So it felt much warmer in the sun. A clean vehicle makes me quite happy! The thought of getting in a dirty vehicle is almost as bad as not cleaning up the house before going to bed! I even got new floor mats for the front floor boards tonight! :)
It's one of things I wanted for V-day! Ok....enough car (SUV) drama. I better move on to a more interesting topic! Like the current Tuesday Trigger Cath is hosting over at the Moxie Fab world blog. I am happy to be playing along this week. The snowy weather has kept the kidlettes home from school so my crafty time has been limited.

I used some sweet cherry paper from Nikki Sivils. The cherry circles were punched from the paper and adhered with Zva Creative dimensional foam. The pearls are also from Zva Creative. I colored them with a red Copic marker. The brad is from Nikki Sivils and the ribbon is by S.E.I. The stamp is by Nikki Sivils. It coordinates with the cherry paper collection. The little paper doily is from the Dollar Tree.
The inside reads "......to have a friend like you."

Have a terrific weekend!!

Valentine's and a layout....

Happy Valentine's Day weekend to all of you! I hope you make many special memories.
Our two oldest daughters host a V-day party for their friends. This is the third year running. We had 15 girls here and 7 of them slept over. They had such a blast!

Here's a few projects I created last week for GCD Studios. I added some Zva Creative bling to a couple of them. I created this l/o because Heidi said so. LOL I need more practice, it was good practice for me!!
Homespun Chic is such a fun and easy collection to use. The front of this card is tag embellie that you can buy. Several tags come in a package. The cute little brad is part of the collection as well.
The pearls are from Zva Creative. I colored them with a scarlet red Copic.This last card is the one I'm going to give my hubby for V-day. It's very simple and kinda masculine. I used a Stampin' Up wood grain BG stamp and some goodies from the Homespun Chic collection. I also squeeezed in some stamps from Nikki Sivils.

Here's a parting shot of all 15 girls.

Fun announcement.....

Hi y'all....I hope your day is going well! If you're not having such a great day. Keep in mind.....Spring is around the corner. What a welcome sight!!

Monday I found out I made the Nikki Sivils DT. WOW! I was quite surprised! So today I thought I'd share a couple cards I made using her "My Sweet Cherry" line. This line is very fun and cutesy. The colors are simply delightful. Also, my kitchen is a cherry theme. So naturally, I think these papers are too cute!

I incorporated a small Zva Creative flourish on each card. They just add extra delight to the yummy paper!

I will be adding the buttons and Nikki Sivils DT links to my side bar soon.
Have a fabby day!!

Homespun Chic

I'll start off with a bouquet I created for GCD Studios CHA booth using the Homespun Chic collection. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed using this collection! IMO it's one of the easiest collections I've ever created with! If you love shabby chic stuff...you may want this one!! It is not just a paper collection. It has many embellishments to match.

I created the flowers using different sizes of scalloped oval nestabilities and a scor-pal. I then layered the flowers with ribbon and embellishments from the Homespun collection.

The coffee cup was something I found at the Dollar Tree. It is made to decorate so jazzing it up was a cinch.

I wish I had some CHA photos to share with you today. Although, I'm sure you've seen a ton of them floating around blog land! I did manage to snap a few photos but not nearly enough! My computer is still acting up a lot so I'm using my hubby's laptop. It does not have an SD card slot. So, I can't edit or upload photos w/o a big hassle.

CHA trade show was an AWESOME experience!! I was able to meet so many WONDERFUL crafty peeps that I've met through this great industry! I will definitely jump at any chance to go again!

Below are several up-close photos of this set of wall tins. I also found these tins at Dollar Tree. I simply covered them with 8x8 sheets of paper from the Homespun collection. I then embellished them with products from the same collection.

I had the greatest privilege to make some projects for GCD Studios CHA booth using the Homespun Chic collection. This collection was so easy for me to use...the projects just seemed to flow right out of me. I love it when that happens!!

Have a super day!

Zva creative peek #4....and some blog candy

Shoo....I'm finally getting this posted. I fell in love with this little deer cardstock sticker image and had to use it on this card. I added little "butterflies" to it's tail and on the pink pearl, Zva Creative flourish. The "butterflies" were created by gluing felt flowers together and snipping off one end. I added tiny pearls to the centers. The letters are foam thickers. They add some fun dimension to this card.

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

Zva Creative peek #3.....and some blog candy.

Well, today brings another Zva Creative peek. I used a lovely Crystal flourish on this little birthday card. The silk flower and brad are also from Zva Creative. I enjoy using them! They are just adorable together! The papers I used are by Jenni Bowlin as well as the flower die cut. I colored in the dots of the die cut to match the patterned paper.

I'm sorry to make this so short today but I have projects to work on for CHA. I'm getting SOOO excited! Just 9 more days!!!!
Here's a close-up of some of the detail.
The button is vintage cream by
PaperTrey Ink. The ribbon is just
regular craft ribbon I bought at
Wal-Mart by the spool. The gemstone
brad is also by Zva Creative.

The blog candy works the same way as yesterday. I will draw one name from the comments on each post at the end of the week and post the winners. The photo above is a sample of some of the things you may receive. Product may vary.
Have a super Day!!

Zva Creative day #2....and some blog candy

Since Valentine's Day is swiftly approaching I thought I would share a V-day card. I think they are some of my favorite types of cards to create. I love the color combos associated with this love-y holiday. I think the pinks, blacks and reds are just scrumptious!
This card consists of Zva Creative pearls, felt and silk flowers, and gemstone brads. The heart is a Jenni Bowlin die cut. The black polka dot paper is from the Jenni Bowlin packaging. The ribbon is once again a piece of Wright's, bought by the yard. The little tag is by doodle bug designs.
Each time I use the Zva Creative products I find more and more ways to use them in a fun or unique way. Below is a close-up view of the flowers and gemstone brad.
The blog candy works the same way as yesterday. I will draw one name from the comments left on each post at the end of the week and post the winners. The photo below is a sample of some of the things you may receive. Product may vary.
A big thanks to each one of you who left comments yesterday. I appreciate
all the sweet feed back!

Zva Creative new releases and some blog candy.....

As you already know. I've fallen in love with Zva Creative products. IMO they add so much more character to my projects. I haunt my mailbox when I know there is a Zva package on the way. I'm probably not alone. :)

If you're attending CHA. You will have the opportunity to see Zva's newest products and our projects we the DT made specifically for CHA 2010. Their booth number is #2991. Feel free to stop by and say "Hello" to Carolyn. I know I'm looking forward to meeting her!

I'm going to spread the posts out all week.....and give some blog candy each day. I have some fun crafty stuff in my stash that I can un-hoard. So, leave me a comment and I'll pick all my winners at the end of the week. So be sure to stop by each day and leave a comment to be eligible (shipping U.S. only). Please, post this on your blog. I would appreciate it!

I'll start out with this beautiful blue, pearl flourish. I
love the depth this blue adds.

Here's a close up shot of the flourish. I think it's
beautiful. I added some Jenni Bowlin papers,
a Heidi Grace sentiment stamp. Along with a little
birdie stamp I bought a HL recently. It's one of
my faves right now. It stays on my craft table.

I also used a Zva corduroy brad and felt flower. I think the texture of these two products together is amazing. Another must IMO! The ribbon is by Wright's I typically buy it by the yard at Wal-Mart when I do my grocery shopping.

The photo above is a sample of what you may get. I will divide some of this between each of the daily winners. GL! :D

have a great day ~lori

some tid bits of fun.....

Today the kids have another snow day. It's the 3rd day in a row this week. Of course, they are thrilled to miss so much school. We ventured out today and had breakfast in town. It's a good thing we got back before more snow hit. The roads are getting covered again. And I'm not real brave when it comes to driving in the snow covered roads.
We're now sitting around the fireplace with our techno gadgets. While the snow piles up around us. Ahhh....what a blessed life!

I've been having a lot of fun using my Zva Creative goodies. And since it's been awhile since my last post I thought I would share a few of my newest cards.

This card sports some Jenni Bolin papers,
Zva Creative pearls and paper rose.
This card is simple but sweet. I used corduroy brads
by Zva Creative to create the balloons.

This little number proudly presents Cosmo Cricket
Early Bird paper, Zva Creative Crystals and pearls.

This year is my first winter CHA evah! And I'm soooo excited! I hope to meet you there.
If you want to look me up. I'll be working at the GCD Studios booth Mon, Tues, and Wed. from 9-12. Just 17 more days!!!
Have a great day!

Christmas cheer.....

I've been such a bad blogger lately so this post is full of this and that. First, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Christmas day can't get here soon enough for my kids. We still have some last minute shopping to do. I enjoy it though. My hubby and I have fun shopping for our munchkins. Our gifts will be wrapped with love and placed under our "evergreen" tree. :) I replaced our skinny tree with this one last year. The new one is beautiful! Well worth the $$!
I was able to get the kids still long enough to shoot some Christmas photos. I just used a cheap table cloth and my point and shoot camera to capture these. I used picnik.com to edit them.

I had our Christmas cards printed at Wal-Mart this year. They had a better variety than Sams Club. I think they turned out pretty good. Considering, we bought seventy photo cards for $30.00. I was able to get three nice size photos on each card.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As some of you know, I'm a DT member for Zva Creative. Below are a couple projects I've created recently using their products. If you love pearls and bling. Zva Creative has a nice variety of styles and colors. You can find a list of supplies on their website.
Zva Creative Supplies used for snowman card: CR-02CB-101 (clear crystals) eyes; PE-02CB-110 (light blue pearls) hat; CR-01CB-109 (clear crystals) mouth; PEC-02CB-101 (large pearls) buttons; PE-02CB-127 ( pearl flourish) Snow swirls; FL-01CB-116 flower (white felt); pink gem brad
deck the halls.....
On the 8th day of Christmas.....my to do list slowly dwindling. Outside lights, check. Trees decorated, check. Garland around the staircase, check. Christmas cards and photos, check. I think I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I still have plenty of gift wrapping to do and a few more gifts to buy. Hopefully I can get the gifts wrapped while all the kiddos are gone today. After tomorrow they will all be home for Christmas break. YAY!
I have a few GCD Studios projects to share with you today. They're from the new Christmas collection which can be found here. I created a table place setting and a centerpiece from the collection. I'm sorry the photos are dark and not real clear. My lighting was horrid. Night time photos are a pain for me and my little point and shoot camera!
To create the center piece I simply used a #2 pencil, patterned paper, a square punch, hot glue gun, and 3 Styrofoam trees of various sizes. To create the trees you punch out squares (it takes 3-4 sheets of 12 by 12 paper to make a large one). Put a square on the end of the pencil and then pinch and twist it around until it stays to the form of the pencil. Remove from the pencil and hot glue it to the tree form. Make sure the sides are touching on each one you put on the tree. This will ensure you will not have any gaps.
This is a close up of the base of the center piece. Around the base I added a twig wreath that is painted silver. I added a little bird I bought at the Dollar Tree to the wreath. The trees are setting on a crystal cake plate and a sheet of the scalloped gcd studios patterned paper. I also added a ribbon around the edge of the cake plate using a few glue dots.
This little humdinger is name holder. I took a clear bulb and stuffed it full of gcd studios patterned paper. I added some ribbon, bling, flowers, a gcd studios brad, and a yard sale tag.The base is the tube off my glue dots. I added some gcd studios patterned paper and buttons.
The plate is sitting on a piece of the gcd studios scalloped patterned paper. I layered one of their clear, patterned acetate sheets over it. The plate is from Dollar Tree. I hot glued assorted buttons around the edges.
The napkin ring mainly consists of a strip of gcd studios patterned paper, a die cut from the gcd collection, some bling, a bow, a hero arts sentiment stamp and a flower.
If you have any questions...feel free to email me at m2three2000@yahoo.com. I would be happy to clarify any of your questions about the project or products I've used.
