1969 convertible and polka a dot scarves.....

What is it about an old convertible that evokes thoughts of sunny days and balmy starlit nights?
This just happens to be our family car for the summer.....ok....except when it's scorching hot or rainy. My husband bought this last summer and had it painted during the winter. We took our first ride in it this year to Sonic for a burger and ice cream last night.......this is where the polka a dot scarf comes in. I always wear my long hair up so a scarf is a must when cruising in the convertible. I don't relish the thought of arriving at my destination looking like something the cat drug in! :)

We still have a lot of things to do inside and out. But for now.....we are going to enjoy it for the summer!
(click photo to enlarge)

I hope to post some new crafty creations soon!! Til then......have a spendid week!

woo hoo....it's another 2s4u Monday...

Edit: The flowers Karen was interested in. I bought at wal-mart. They come on a roll for around 3-4 dollars.

This weeks sketch is by Kazan at 2sketches4you. I anticipate the new sketch each week!! Laura and Kazan sure keep them fresh and fun!! Also, the sponsor this week is Starving Artist Stamps. I used the Oh Baby sentiment and the crawling baby image. I paper pieced the babies p.j's and added a little bow to its curl. I recently purchased a Melissa Frances kit. I created this card with it. I've been using it like crazy lately!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kazan wanted us to make a free expression card for this weeks challenge using more Starving Artist Stamps. Here's what I came up with.....just a little fun and simple design. I used a Starving Artist sentiment and baby image. The PP is by K & Company. The kraft flower is a clothing tag I saved from a few months ago.
I hope you have a wonderful Monday! It's a holiday!! :)
let's spice things up with shaped cards....
What a fun challenge Caardvarks has put out this week! Hands down.....it's one of my favorites! I had a blast with this one! I've enjoyed seeing what the other designers have come up with!! You'll definitely want to peek at them! Talk about creative talent!! They've got it!!
I want to invite you to play along with our shaped cards challenge....click here for the details.
I stumbled on this idea after cutting out a circle that I ended up not using. I folded the circle in half to get it out of my way. In doing so, I realized that it took on the perfect shape of a taco shell. The most difficult part was getting the filling to look just right. I used shredded paper for the main filling and cut small pieces of CS for the lettuce and shredded cheese. The tomatos are small pieces of CS folded a couple times. I CB'd the shell and added scorch marks with a brown marker to make it look more realistic. The sentiment is a sticker that's stuck on a toothpick.
Thanks so much for looking and all your kind comments and support! You guys are terrific!!!
WOW!! It's Monday again already!! Which, is a good thing!!! I'll tell you about after I introduce my project! :)
For this week's challenge the 2s4u DT was given product sponsored by ShortCuts . If you've never used their products. You're missing out! The products are easy to use and packed with top notch quality! I am looking forward to incorporating more of ShortCuts products into my projects! For Laura's sketch....I decided to use the white gift card holder!! What a quick and cute way to give a gift!! And...who doesn't love $$$$~ :D
This little number has sweet Melissa Frances PP, American Crafts stamp (thanks CKmedia), chipboard (loaded with glitter), millinery flowers, HL flowers and Melissa Frances pearls.
The inside is decorated with MF PP, pearls and Cosmo Cricket CS stickies.
Aren't these flowers the sweetest things!? I bought the millinery flowers at a surplus store for .99 cents. The larger flowers are from HL. I buy them in the floral section by the stem. Then I just pull them off the stem when I want to use them!!
let's mix things up....
For the sake of change....I thought I would give you a little tour of my crafty space. It's a room I LOVE and spend a lot of "quality" time in. One of my favorite things about this room is, it's a balcony/loft. It looks out over our L.R. and front door. So I ALWAYS know what going on. Which in turn. Allows me to create more often.
I am one of those people that don't like to "see" clutter. I hung fabric over the bookcases to hide my supplies. The old buffet and cabinet also house supplies. The buffet houses paper, stickers and SB albums. The cabinet is full of stamps and ink.
You see the side of the buffet at the top of the stairs.
The cabinet is to the right of the stairs.
There is a short hallway to the right of the tree. Our munchkins bedrooms branch off of it.
My hubby bought this table and chairs for me at an auction for sixty dollars. It fit this room to a T!
teacher gift set...
Just a quick post here....I wanted to share this little gift set I put together today. The pencil holder came from Hobby Lobby. It was reg. 1.47 but I got it 30% off. I used the Green Stack line by DCWV. I've fallen in love with all those sweet animals!! :D
I thought this set could also be used for a guy teacher. It's not frilly and fussy.
The Spellbinders Labels 1 came in handy for this project. I think they're my favorite die so far!
I used the labels 1 to make a window for this cutesy little owl. The owl is DCWV chipboard. Some of my favorite chipboard to date!! :D
Wishing you all a wondeful evening!
wide open spaces......
Welcome to another Pink Elephant challenge. This week it's a recipe challenge(refer to link in this post).
A week or so ago....I ordered some Melissa Frances goodies. The patterned paper and rub-on are Melissa Frances. I enjoyed using it for my first time. I'll definitely be ordering more!
Sometimes....I get in the mood to leave "wide open spaces". I wanted the pitcher to be the focal point. So, I didn't add too much frou frou .
Well.....I survived the b-day party! TG! We had 70 something people here. All the hard work paid off...when you see everyone having such a good time! Thankfully, the weather held out til the party was over....Even though we had LARGE canopies set up. Rain is NOT a good thing when you have an outdoor party! The cakes turned out so cute! I'll post some pics when I get a spare moment!! :) Well, I'll quit rambling! Have a great Monday!!
